They didn’t know where they were going but she wasn’t worried, she had her brother with her and she was excited to be going on an adventure.

At age 4 she was evacuated along with her two sisters. Leek was to be their destination, where they stayed until she reached the age of 7.

Margaret Hancock

Margaret lived in the East End of London with her mother, grandmother and aunties when at the age of five she was evacuated to Stockton Brook, Stoke-on-Trent.
